A Statewide Movement Towards a Child-Begging-Free Gujarat

Shree Shakti Seva Kendra (SSSK) officially launched the Bal Bhiksha Vruti Mukat Gujarat Abhiyan on 30 April 2026 at the Shree Shakti Convocation Centre, Ambaji. The launch event was conducted through a large-scale press conference attended by more than 100 journalists, media representatives, social workers, educators, community leaders, and supporters from across Gujarat.

The campaign marks the beginning of a statewide movement aimed at eliminating child begging and ensuring that every child receives access to education, dignity, protection, and opportunities for a better future.

Why Was This Campaign Launched?

For more than 15 years, Shree Shakti Seva Kendra has been working in the tribal and marginalized regions of Ambaji under its guiding mission:

“ભિક્ષા નહીં, શિક્ષા” (Education, Not Begging)

During its grassroots work, the organization witnessed countless children being forced into begging due to poverty, lack of awareness, social exclusion, and limited access to education.

Rather than offering temporary relief, SSSK chose a sustainable solution—bringing children into the education system and supporting their overall development.

Through continuous efforts, the organization has successfully transformed the lives of hundreds of underprivileged children by helping them move from the streets to classrooms, from uncertainty to opportunity.

The launch of the Bal Bhiksha Vruti Mukat Gujarat Abhiyan is an effort to expand this successful model across Gujarat and encourage collective action against child begging.

Together, We Can Build a Better Gujarat

The Bal Bhiksha Vruti Mukat Gujarat Abhiyan is a step towards making that vision a reality.

Because every child deserves a school bag, not a begging bowl.
