From Ambaji to Amreli: SSSK Bagpiper Band Shines at Gujarat’s State-Level Independence Day 2026

A Historic Stage for Tribal Youth

Amreli hosted Gujarat’s official state-level Independence Day celebrations this year. Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel unfurled the national flag, and the entire district was decorated in the colours of the Tiranga. Against this grand backdrop, the Shree Shakti Bagpiper Band brought the spirit of Ambaji’s tribal communities onto the parade ground.

The band, formed in 2017 under the guidance of Founder Mrs. Usha Agarwal, has already performed before the Hon’ble Prime Minister on multiple occasions. Their appearance at the Amreli celebrations continues that journey — placing tribal girls and boys side by side on one of Gujarat’s most important national stages. Girls lead with the pipes; boys provide the powerful drum rhythm. Together they create a sound that is both traditional and proudly modern.

More Than Music — Character in Uniform

Look at the images closely. You will see children standing straight, eyes focused, some holding the ceremonial mace, others ready with their instruments. You will also see them smiling while interacting with the dignitary. That combination of discipline and natural joy is the real achievement of the programme.

Being part of the band teaches far more than notes and marching. It builds:

For many of these children, the journey began when SSSK’s Bhiksha Nahi Shiksha movement first reached their families. In the photographs, a senior leader in traditional attire is seen speaking with the young musicians, offering encouragement and acknowledging their presence. These are not ordinary interactions for children who, only a few years earlier, were invisible on the streets of Ambaji.
Every such recognition reinforces a simple truth that SSSK has lived by since 2011: when you replace a begging bowl with opportunity, the child rises higher than anyone expected.
